Parkscapes is a seasonal public art-making program that brings together neighbours around select Brampton parks. There, through accessible, all-ages, hands-on collaborative workshops, they strengthen community bonds and create temporary artworks and performances.

Parkscapes: Routes in the Park

Every Thursday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in July and August, join Brampton artist and dancer Enakshi Sinha in Chinguacousy Park for a free outdoor dance and movement workshop.

This workshop series invites all community members, regardless of age, experience or ability, to explore movement through sensory observation, storytelling, rhythm, and collaborative creativity.

Every Thursday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in July and August, join Brampton artist and educator Minoya Magendrathajan in Eldorado Park (July) and Churchville Park (August) for a series of free outdoor nature journalling workshops. In these workshops, you will learn simple and accessible nature journalling techniques like drawing, watercolour, printmaking, and more that encourage curiosity, creativity, and mindfulness.

This workshop series is for all ages and experience levels. All materials will be provided and instruction can be given in English and Tamil.

Every Friday from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in July and August, join Brampton visual artist Aditi Ganeev Sangwan in Eastbourne Park for a free hands-on cyanotype (sun printing) workshop.

You will learn the cyanotype (sun printing) process, including safety procedures and creative techniques. The prints you make will be in the shapes of birds, butterflies and flowers and displayed on the fence at the “Tiny Forest,” creating a beautiful temporary communal public art installation.

This workshop is for all ages and experience levels. All materials will be provided.

Seniors, join Laal Button’s Sunny Deewana, in Timberlane Park for a series of free improv and comedy workshops this July and August from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The workshops will be conducted in English, Punjabi, Hindi,and Urdu.

These workshops are designed for seniors with zero performance experience, as well as seniors who have performed before, to stimulate their creativity as they learn the fundamentals of improv.
