BAO Studio Rentals

Located in the heart of Downtown Brampton, BAO Studio Rentals at 8 Nelson St. W. is an innovative multi-disciplinary creative hub for Brampton artists, creative entrepreneurs and arts and culture organizations. Operated in partnership between the Brampton Arts Organization (BAO) and the City of Brampton, the BAO Studio Rentals program offers all-inclusive extremely affordable creative space.

About BAO Studio Rentals

Background

When the BAO Studio Rentals program launched in October 2025, it was a pivotal moment for the Brampton creative community. For the first time, Brampton had an affordable creative meanwhile space project.

This project provides artists with low-cost creative workspace. Artists can choose either a private studio or a hot desk. Both options include access to a shared kitchen, meeting room, storage and lounge.

The Studios

The studios are approximately 100 square feet (10 x 10 ft) and come with a desk and chair.

For an individual studio, the cost is $300.00 month-to-month.

For a shared studio, the cost is $150.00 month-to-month. Shared studios are for no more than two people to use.

Hot Desk

For individuals that don’t need a studio but want to work in a creative hub, we offer a $75.00 month-to-month membership.

Location

The BAO Studio Rentals are located in the heart of the City of Brampton’s Innovation District at 8 Nelson St. W., right above the Brampton Transit Terminal and across from the Innovation District GO Station. This convenient location means the studios areaccessible to Brampton and GTA residents alike.

The building is open from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. daily. The main entrance to the building located on Nelson Street West has step-free access with a push-button automatic door opener into the building lobby. The studios are located on the third floor and are accessed by two standard elevators.

At BAO Studio Rentals, you will find a dynamic and welcoming community of artists working in a wide range of creative disciplines including but not limited to illustration, craft, textiles, photography, comics, theatre, dance, portraiture, and more.

The multidisciplinary nature of the studios creates unique opportunities for collaboration, knowledge sharing, support and friendship.
