Have an idea for a paint and sip night? Perhaps you want to curate a show but need a venue. Whatever your event idea is, you can make your vision a reality through collaboration with a local business!

This Power Hour in collaboration with the Brampton Entrepreneur Centre (BEC) and the Downtown Brampton BIA will introduce artists and creatives to the process of collaborating with local businesses to host independent creative events and community activations.

Learn about the small business ecosystem in Brampton, how to develop strong event proposals and value propositions, and how to harness community resources (networks, funding, outreach) to host successful creative events in collaboration with local businesses.

You will also learn about the supports BEC and the Downtown Brampton BIA offer artists and how you can leverage community connections to boost your brand, grow your community of supporters and drive local engagement.

Workshop Presenter

Gabe Coroza is an artist, curator, and community programmer based in Brampton, Ontario. He currently is working as a Programmer for the City of Brampton Entrepreneurship Centre (BEC), where he has been leading marketing efforts and entrepreneurship programming for the past 3 years.

Additionally, Gabe is also the co-founder and lead programmer of Stalefish Gallery, an independent curation platform dedicated to empowering DIY creative spaces and community aid in Brampton.

Ashley Morrissey is the Events and Membership Coordinator for the Downtown Brampton BIA. She serves as a connector, promoter, and advocate for more than 400 local businesses within the downtown boundary. Ashley specializes in utilizing local talent to engage residents, support businesses, and elevate the culture and diversity of Downtown Brampton.
