Join Brampton Arts Organization (BAO), Brampton Library and CBC News for Vote for the Arts: Arts & Culture Election Town Hall & Mayoral Candidates Roundtable, a non-partisan community gathering bringing together Brampton’s mayoral candidates to discuss the future of arts, culture, and the creative economy in our city.

Moderated by CBC News Peel’s Nav Nanwa, attendees will have the opportunity to hear directly from candidates, learn about key issues affecting the cultural sector, and make informed decisions ahead of the 2026 Brampton Municipal Election on October 26. Join us for an evening of meaningful conversation, community connection, and civic engagement as we shape the future of Brampton together!

This is a neutral event designed to foster informed civic engagement and does not endorse any candidates.

Who Should Attend?

Artists, creatives, cultural workers, arts organizations, community leaders, arts supporters, and Brampton residents and families who care about the role of arts and culture in our city’s future.

This event is free, but registration is required. Space is limited, so attendees are encouraged to register in advance.

Transportation: We can provide all-ages Brampton Transit Tickets to Brampton residents free of charge. If you would like to pick up a ticket for yourself and others attending with you, please email info@bramptonartsorg.ca prior to the event and we will have them available for you onsite. Tickets work for both Brampton Transit and Züm buses.

Nav Nanwa is the host of CBC News Peel.

Nanwa joined CBC in 2020 and worked with CBC Toronto’s Brampton Backpack Bureau as a reporter/editor where he produced stories about the city — shining a light on its BIPOC population under 40.

He then went on to host Windsor’s flagship radio program, Windsor Morning and was the host of CBC Radio One’s Ontario Morning. Most recently he served as a host and reporter at CBC Toronto.

Prior to joining CBC, Nanwa worked in local media in Ontario for eight years as a radio host and producer for NewsTalk SAUGA 960 AM and a television host for Rogers TV Peel. He also has a brand marketing background with experience putting together campaigns for some of the biggest brands in Canada.

Nav studied journalism at Seneca and holds an Honours B.Com and an MBA from the DeGroote School of Business at McMaster University.
