Brampton Film Showcase Shines a Spotlight on Local Filmmakers - BAO

All residents are invited to the Rose Brampton Theatre on April 9th to celebrate local films and filmmakers

Brampton, ON (March 11, 2026) – The fifth annual Brampton Film Showcase comes to the Rose Brampton Theatre this year, thanks to the Brampton Arts Organization (BAO), Experience Brampton and the Brampton Film Office. First launched as the Film Screening & Networking Night in 2022, the Brampton Film Showcase has grown exponentially, rocketing from an original audience of 60 to over 400 last year.

Hosted by BAO Ambassador, TIFF alumna and local filmmaker Sasha Leigh Henry, the showcase will feature 11 short films and videos by local filmmakers, followed by an awards ceremony announcing the Judges’ Choice Award winners and the Audience Award Winner. The evening will also include a post-screening networking event where the audience and the filmmakers can connect and celebrate the city’s screen-based talent.

This year’s films include a workplace comedy, heartwarming stop motion animation, a wedding comedy, meditations on loss, a hyper-local documentary, Brampton Batman and much more from both established and emerging talent. These films capture both the stories we carry with us to Brampton and those we create here. Their diverse subjects and modes of expression reflect the intricacy of the Brampton mosaic.
