photographer
Ravine Malhi began her photography career in 2014 during the growing urban exploration scene, walking the streets of Brampton and Toronto for hours on end with one goal in mind: to capture the cities from an unseen perspective. Her work is whimsical yet moody. She prioritizes her work to capture the essence of a painting within a photograph, blurring the lines between the two mediums. When looking at her work, she wants you to feel transported to that moment in time with her. Currently, her main pursuit is to take on the music photography world.
Ravine Malhi is a Canadian photographer based in Brampton, Ontario. She was born on October 28, 1996 at Peel Memorial Hospital in Brampton. She received a Bachelor’s of Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo. Her work was most recently showcased at her debut exhibition, “Just Another Interlude”, at Capsul Studio in Toronto.
A Window
To me this photo is a reminder of what could be when you put yourself first. I was travelling with a friend at the time who wasn’t too keen on going to the locations I had scouted for my photography. I grew up learning only to keep the peace and never to advocate for my wants. This time around for some reason I gathered the courage to say that I was visiting this location with or without her. I ended up capturing this shot which is still one of my favourites till this date.
