Longing for the Summer
Longing for the Summer” explores the craving for warm summer picnics, filled with good eats and unwanted pests. This painting embraces improvisation and has fun with bright and saturated colours. The artwork started with a pre-activated ground, by gel transferring an image found in an old art history book. After transferring the image, the panel was glazed with acrylic glazing medium in different tints, and from there on, shapes were transformed to form the scene of a busy summer picnic.
