In this workshop, we will discuss as a group how we can become thoughtful community collaborators and project-makers while making positive transformations in our diverse communities. By exploring five key practices presented by the workshop facilitator, Parul Pandya, we will uncover ideas and processes that inspire more effective and meaningful community engagement.

Participants will be asked to reflect, discuss and ask questions throughout the workshop. A practical worksheet will be given to all attendees so you can continue this practice beyond this webinar.

Workshop Presenter

Founder of Community Impact Consulting and Community Consultant, Parul Pandya has been skillfully working in non-profit in various roles through the past two decades – as a community builder, consultant, programmer and producer. After managing community grants for the largest government funder in Canada, she was sought after by organizations to continue her work on collective impact and for the last decade, she has ardently served these organizations in a variety of capacities. Initially, Parul’s attraction to advocacy emerged through her work as a Queer South Asian freelance writer/poet, over two decades ago. This experience has fueled a deep passion for social justice and its intersectionality with the arts, which she teaches about at both Centennial College and Humber College. She is also Director of Programming for artsvest, a professional development program for 650+ small to midsize arts organizations across Canada.

Arts and culture are the heart of our communities and boost the local economy. Supporting the arts is more than just nice—it drives business, fosters creativity, and brings people together. Advocacy ensures the arts stay vibrant, leading to increased funding, better policies, and more opportunities for artists, cultural organizations, and creative businesses in Brampton.
