Brampton Arts Organization and Brampton On Stage Launch Brampton’s First Musician Support Program - BAO

All Brampton-based musicians and bands are encouraged to apply.

BRAMPTON, ON (March 14, 2025) – The Brampton Arts Organization (BAO) and Brampton On Stage are thrilled to announce the launch of the Live Music Support Program. This unique endeavour will give local musicians and bands up to $1,000 in funding to help them cover the costs associated with performing at music showcases, conferences and festivals, not only provincially but also nationally and internationally.

Performing at music industry events incurs many costs like travel, accommodation, conference, and festival fees. These costs can make performance prohibitive for artists, despite the value these events provide. Appearing at such events can mean reaching new audiences and key industry decision makers like DJ’s, Managers, Agents, Labels, Performers’ Rights Organizations, Funders, Music Supervisors, and more. Artists also benefit from the professional development opportunities at these events, such as panels, workshops, and round-table discussions. This program will help Brampton musicians and bands participate in opportunities that may have seemed out of reach before.

In 2024, the City of Brampton was nominated for the Music Cities Award in the category of Best Global Music City. This award celebrates the city or town that has best integrated music into as many aspects of its development as possible. The Live Music Support Program further demonstrates the city’s commitment to being a global leader in integrating music and arts into its economic and social growth strategies. It joins Brampton on Stage’s This Is Brampton platform, which provides professional mentorship and development to the next generation of Brampton curators and performers.
