Amanda Leduc

Amanda Leduc is a Canadian writer and disability rights advocate. She is the author of Disfigured: On Fairy Tales, Disability, and Making Space which was shortlisted for the 2020 Governor General’s Award in Nonfiction. She is also the author of the novels The Centaur’s Wife, published in 2021, and The Miracles Of Ordinary Men, published in 2013. Her newest novel, Wild Life, is out now with Random House Canada.

Amanda’s essays and stories have appeared across Canada, the US, and the UK, and she speaks regularly across North America on accessibility, inclusion, and disability in storytelling. She has cerebral palsy and lives in Hamilton, Ontario.

I love supporting writers with grant applications and helping to guide their work into the best possible version of itself. I’m especially excited to work with disabled writers to help them investigate and source new opportunities for their work and growth as writers and artists.

Application Process

Please fill out the Google form below and let me know what you’d like to discuss during our mentorship meeting. I can read and critique up to 10 pages of fiction or nonfiction, or review a grant application, prior to our meeting. Discussion meetings are one hour in length.

If you’d also just like to meet for an hour to discuss anything related to writing and publishing, I am absolutely game for that. I look forward to hearing from you!
