BAO’s Newcomer Creative Exchange program has been developed to create a space for Brampton-based newcomer creatives, artists and cultural workers to gather, network, create, and learn together in a welcoming and supportive environment.

For our sixth Newcomer Creative Exchange session, please join us and Arts as Therapy for an evening of art as a wellness practice in a supportive community environment. This expressive arts workshop gives participants the opportunity to explore art as a wellness practice, focusing on self-expression, relaxation, and connection.

Whether you are an experienced artist or just starting out, this workshop will provide a safe space to explore different art materials, express your thoughts and emotions, and nurture your mental well-being.

Renowned Sikh Canadian art therapist Rapinder Kaur, will guide you through mindful art-making activities designed to reduce stress, foster self-awareness, and promote a sense of connectedness with self and others.

This workshop is not about artistic skill, but about the process of creating and finding joy in expressing yourself through art. No experience is necessary. All materials will be provided.

We’ll also have food and drinks available throughout the event, giving you the chance to meet all the other participants and make new friends and potential collaborators.
