Visual artist
A self-taught Ktunaxa artist from the ʔakisq̓nuk First Nation (Windermere, B.C.), from an early age, Pj Gilhuly was drawn to painting as an outlet for self-expression. Over the years, their art has become more distinctive, unique and abstract.
I make art from the soul. Through my artwork, I try to bring the love out. While I make no attempt to portray actual animals or birds, I do want my imagination to look like they could have lived somewhere.
Mother

This is my biological mother. This is me. She did not want me at birth. This stained glass represents church. My biological mother is a Residential School Survivor. Those stars represent all my ancestors before. The red dress represents all Indigenous Women.
