Noor Malik is a Pakistani-Canadian artist who uses watercolour art to explore the bounds of geometric patterns. Her work is meant to inspire awe and curiosity in the divine, as almost all her patterns begin with a single circle. She explores pairing traditional patterns with bright and non-traditional colours to encourage exploration of dual identities and the harmony mount in opposing things.

Bahija

Joyful – this painting depicts a traditional Moroccan zellige pattern, painted in a bright and non-traditional colour palette. The pattern seen here can be found in Bou Inania Madrassa in Fes, Morocco.
