Through the manipulation of auditory and visual impressions, Kazashim finds solace and growth in displays of ego death and sentimentality. Songs like ‘Genesis of the…’, ‘Greatest,’ ‘Better Days,’ and ‘Red Light Renegade’ pose both questions and statements for his present and future selves.

With sounds that range across hip-hop, R&B, soul, and alternative jazz with hints of funk, Brampton-based and Nigerian-born artist Kazashim draws inspiration from stars like Mali Music, KB, Ty Dolla Sign, Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, Linkin Park, Vince Staples, Stormzy and more. Kazashim graces us with heavy-hitting bass lines, intricate melodies, raw executions, thought provoking verses and catchy hooks that keep listeners wanting more.

Kazashim has been showered with accolades in the early stages of his career and has demonstrated a vigilant work ethic while perfecting his craft and performing at Toronto venues like The Grand Gerrard Theatre and The Smiling Buddha. After his debut album ‘Genesis of The Black Sheep’, he released two follow-up EPs, ‘Brainstorming’ and ‘All Smiles in 10’ in the same year. His latest project, ‘Hotel Cerebrum,’ was released in September 2020 and has scaled over 100,000+ streams on Spotify. His most recent endeavours include explosive performances onstage at the Handlebar and Nightowl as well as ‘The MixDOWN Vol 3’ in 2022 and a six-day venture at the ‘Summer Dreams Tour’ in 2023. Kazashim shares his sound and connects with audiences through collaborative efforts with the Canadian Arts Council and others.
